Abstract
In The Providential Order of the World, Bruce presents in a first course of twelve lectures an account of the philosophic presuppositions of a providential order. He examines some generalisations based on observation regarding the modes in which the providential order manifests itself. A providential order implies a God who provides. Bruce discusses the result of the revolution of thought caused by the evolutionists (Darwinism) and sheds light on man’s place in the universe and his relation to God. The methods by which providence seeks to accomplish its beneficent aims for the good of mankind are discussed.
