Abstract

In The Philosophy of the Good Life, Gore examines the concept of the good life as it is entertained by the famous moral leaders of humankindóZarathustra, the Buddha, Confucius, Muhammad, Socrates, Plato and the Stoics, the Jewish prophets and, finally, Jesus Christ. Gore also considers the function of faith in all knowledge and the special function of faith in the moral life. In the end, the author argues for Jesusí claim on faith and the spirit of intellectual humility.
